【高2グローバルコース】イングリッシュキャンプ

英語と英国文化に浸り、学びを深めました

グローバルコースの2年生は、6月中旬に福島県白河市にあるブリティッシュヒルズを2泊3日で訪れました。イギリスのハイランド地方に似ているという冷涼な気候の中、英語と英国文化に”浸る”環境で、日ごろの学習の成果を実践し、学びを深めることができました。

メイン棟であるマナーハウスには、図書室や貴族が過ごす部屋などが再現されており、講師から出題されるクイズに答えながら、英語で英国文化について学びました。

まるでハリーポッターの映画に出てきそうな食堂リフェクトリーでは、2日目の夜にイギリス式のテーブルマナーを学び、実践しました。

最終日は、スコーン作りを行いました。英語で指示される計量や手順で生地を作り、オーブンからいい香りが漂う中で英語での会話も弾みました。

英語を話すことに果敢にチャレンジするだけではなく、普段の学校生活では見ることができないクラスの友人の一面を発見することができ、クラスメートとの絆が強まった有意義な３日間になりました。

• During this English camp, I learned a lot of UK and many English words,but the best part was the memories I made with my classmates. Playing table tennis together in the gym,getting drinks from Mr.Yasuda at the pub,and playing games in one room are my favorite memories. I became closer to everyone.All of the classes were impressive and fun,but the most was the lesson where we thought about our ideal school. It was funny that everyone said “Mr.Yasuda”was the best part of our school.Also,I think I was able to discuss the most and use a lot of English words in this class.
  
• I spoke a lot of English with my friends and native teachers.During the lesson I talked mostly in English . Also I interviewed to native teachers.I asked about favorite place in British hills,favorite movie and so on. I also woke up at five a.m. and took a walk in the morning. The air was so clean. It was a refreshing time for me.In this camp,I think my English skills improved.Ican understand some English spoken by native teachers and staff. And I realized learning languages is really fun. Now I’m learning English and German. So, I want to be a good speaker of English and German.
